Center for Humanitarian Dialogue solicits partnership with Borno State Government

The Deputy Governor of Borno state, Hon. Umar Usman Kadafur received a delegation from the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue in his office on Wednesday at the Government House, Maiduguri.
The delegation which was led by country manager, Mrs Millicent Lewis-ogunmu. She said the courtesy visit was to brief the state government about the activities of the organization and role they play in dialogue, mediation and peace building in Nigeria.
She also solicited for the support of the state government and partnership in implementation of their activities in the state which was targeted as peace building and reconciliation as part of the post-insurgency measures to strength peace, unity and tolerance among the citizens of the state.
The country manager added that the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue is an independent diplomacy and mediation organization with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to her, it was founded on the principle of humanity, impartiality and independence with a mission to prevent, mitigate, and resolve conflict through diplomacy, dialogue and mediation.
Responding, the Deputy Governor urged them to strongly align and key into Borno state 25 years Development framework and it’s 10 Years strategic Transformation plan of Professor Babagana Umara Zulum particularly on peace and security.
In another development, the Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has approved the posting of Maryam Y. Shehu as the new Permanent Secretary in the state’s Ministry of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning.
Borno’s Head of Service, Barrister Simon Malgwi announced the posting on Tuesday night after a meeting with Governor Zulum at the government house in Maiduguri.
Maryam Y. Shehu is to fill the vacuum created by the retirement of Engineer Emat Mohammed Kois, who was Permanent Secretary, Finance.
Until her new posting, Maryam S. Shehu was the Permanent Secretary in charge of pensions at the office of the head of Service which she will continue to oversee, pending the appointment of a substantive permanent secretary for the pensions department.
