President Bola Tinubu has sent a letter to the House of Representatives, seeking approval for an extra $347 million in the federal government’s 2025-2026 Borrowing Plan.
In the letter presented by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen, the President, through Finance Minister and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, indicated that an additional $47 million is required for the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway project, which has increased in cost from $700 million to $747 million.
The proposal has been forwarded to the joint committee on finance, aids, loans, and debt management for further legislative consideration
