The Federal Government extends a warm welcome to our brave Super Falcons upon their victorious return from Rabat, Morocco, where they claimed the title of champions of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
This achievement transcends mere sports – it serves as a powerful reflection of the resilience, excellence, and unyielding Nigerian spirit that the Super Falcons consistently represent. With extraordinary skill, remarkable performance, discipline, and teamwork, our national heroines have etched Nigeria’s name in golden letters on the continental platform, making the nation proud.
At a grand reception for team at the Presidential Villa today, July 28, President Bola Tinubu gifted the victorious Super Falcons N160 million each, in addition to a fully furnished 3-bedroom apartment in Abuja.
Each of the 24 team members was also conferred with national honors of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) award.
The Technical Crew also got $50,000 each for their invaluable contributions to the team’s success
The Super Falcons’ remarkable achievements have not only brought pride to the nation but also paved the way for future generations of female footballers.
As the triumphant amazons arrived in Abuja this afternoon, Nigerians were invited to celebrate the team during their procession from the Abuja City Gate, through Eagle Square, and to the Presidential Villa, where they will be officially welcomed.
