The roots of jazz trace back to African American communities in the early 1900s, incorporating African rhythms, call-and-response techniques, and European classical elements and instruments.

Key traits of jazz include

Improvisation: Jazz musicians produce music on the spot, engaging in “musical dialogues.”

Syncopation: Rhythmic patterns frequently highlight the off-beat, establishing a rich and energetic groove.

Instrumentation: Common instruments in jazz include trumpets, trombones, saxophones, piano, double bass, and drums.
