Indicators of a breast lump can include the discovery of a new lump or an area of firmness in the breast or underarm, alterations in the size or shape of the breast, changes in the skin such as dimpling or redness (similar to the texture of an orange peel), or alterations in the nipple like inversion (turning inward) or a discharge that is bloody or otherwise unusual. Nevertheless, it’s crucial to understand that not every lump is indicative of cancer, and any new or worrisome changes in the breast should always be evaluated by a healthcare professional.

Common Symptoms to Look Out For

~ New Lumps or Thickening: The appearance of a new lump or a raised area in the breast or underarm region.
~ Skin Changes: Alterations in the breast skin such as dimpling, puckering, redness, or thickening, which may resemble the texture of an orange peel.
~ Nipple Changes: A nipple that is retracting inward (inversion), discharge from the nipple (particularly if it is blood-stained or clear), or a rash or scaling occurring on the nipple.
~ Changes in Size or Shape: An obvious shift in the size or shape of one or both breasts.
~ Swelling: The presence of swelling or a lump in the collarbone or armpit area.
