Governor Mba sets to grow Enugu State economy to 30 billion dollarsย

Enugu State, the “Coal City State,” has continued to stand tall in Nigeria most especially ever since Dr Mba emerges as the state governor. It continues proving herself as a land of opportunities, innovation, and resilience. The state through Governor Mba has continuously rang the bell of empowerment, echoing across sectors, touching lives, and creating a culture of growth that resonates with her people.
Recently, Dr Mba flagged off free distribution of farm inputs to over 60,000 registered farmers in the state as a way of empowerment with the intention to produce the next generation of Agricultural scientists, Entrepreneurs and innovators.
He stated that his administration remains committed to establishing a special Agro Processing zone in order to build the capacity and capability to process, package and export Agricultural produce.ย 
Speaking at the Event, he said Enugu State aims at being a major exporter of Agro products in Nigeria, noting that the state is about to establish three Agricultural transformation centre which will serve as a catalyst for agro Processing, rural development, as well as job creation.
Governor Mba said the state had already taken delivery of 102 tractors, stating that another batch of 98 will be delivered soon, while 800 will be assembled locally at the Nortra plant to enable registered farmers to have access to a mechanised farming system.
Dr Mba maintained that agriculture was the backbone of the old Eastern Region’s economy, saying that his administration’s investment in agriculture is aimed at growing the economy of the state to 30 billion dollars and to eradicate poverty completely.
The commissioner for Agriculture and Agro industrialization affirms that the event justifies that the governor is fully committed to transforming the rural communities into vibrant centres of economic growth, prosperity and a symbol of hope and resilience,ย  stated that Agriculture in Enugu State has never taken this shape before now.
Speaking further, Alhaji Friday Sani-Nnaji, the Enugu farm Estate consultant, as well as Chairman, house committee on agriculture Hon. Ejike Eze, commended the governor for his incredible achievement in the agric sector, assured that food security is sacrosanct in the state by next year 2026.
The event was wrapped up with more donations of 40,000 bags of fertilizer, as well as other farm inputs, were distributed to the registered farmers in the state.
Indeed with this the governor has really set a pace agriculturally making the state one of the number one Agro based transformed state for 2025.
