Hon. Commissioner Public Complaints Commission Receives a Team from ACPL in Abuja
The Chief Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission, Hon. Bashir Abubakar, MFR received a team from Africa Centre for Public Leadership -ACPL, in his office on Wednesday September 17, 2025.
He was in the company of his management team, including the Secretary to the Commission, the Chief of Staff, Director of the Legal Department, Director of Public Relations, Director of Administration, as well as other senior and support staff.
The Director General of ACPL Dr. Joseph Ibekwe, visited with his team including Sir Ikeokwu Nwogu, afpl, Mrs. Ochor Uzoma, afpl, and Ms. Joyce Ahmadu, afpl, who are members of ACPL.

The team was warmly received by the Honourable Chief Commissioner
In his address, Dr. Ibekwe introduced the purpose of the visit, which was to explore possible areas of collaboration with the Commission in leadership training, public awareness creation, and related initiatives. He briefed the Commission about ACPL’s forthcoming Women’s Leadership Conference, scheduled to hold on 14th November.
He formally invited the Honourable Chief Commissioner to be inducted as an Honourary Fellow of ACPL.
In response, the Honourable Chief Commissioner expressed his appreciation to the ACPL team for considering the Commission as a partner in such impactful initiatives. He informed us of the Commission’s forthcoming 50th Anniversary celebration in October, describing it as a significant milestone in its history.
He also noted that the Commission has successfully handled over one million cases since its establishment—a landmark achievement in promoting justice and fairness.
The visit was rounded off with the presentation of a souvenir to the ACPL team by the Honourable Chief Commissioner.
The visit is part of FLED-ACPL wider consultations for collaborations in capacity development in Nigeria.
