FLED Group Africa Inaugurates Governing Councils and Boards Across Its Institutional Arms

FLED Group Africa on Saturday, February 14, 2026, formally inaugurated key Councils and Boards across its institutional ecosystem in a landmark ceremony held in Abuja, Nigeria.

The event, which held hybrid, marks a significant milestone in the organisation’s evolution from visionary movement to fully structured, governance-driven institution committed to ethical leadership formation, enterprise sustainability, and continental development.

The inauguration formally constituted a total of 28 Members into the following governing bodies:

• The Governing Council of FLED International Leadership Institute
• The Leadership Standards Council (LSC)
• The Enterprise Supervisory Council (ESC) 
• The Board of Africa Centre for Public Leadership
• The Editorial Board of Future World Magazine

Together, these bodies now form the central governance architecture guiding the academic, enterprise, research, and thought leadership arms of the organisation.

Strengthening Governance and Institutional Continuity

The Governing Council of FLED International Leadership Institute, Chaired by Dr. John Dara, will provide strategic oversight for the Institute’s academic direction, quality assurance, partnerships, and long-term institutional development. Other members include Prof. Nkechi Agwu (USA), Prof. Mabel Evwierhowa (Nigeria), Mr. Obadiah Tohomdet, etc.

The Leadership Standards Council (LSC), Chaired by Prof. Sam Amadi, positioned as the apex standards and academic integrity body within the Learning Arm, will safeguard curriculum quality, faculty standards, leadership philosophy coherence, and institutional formation benchmarks. Other members include Dr. Ngozi Chukwu (The Gambia), Pastor Boniface Omazuapo (UK), etc.

The Enterprise Supervisory Council (ESC), to be Chaired by Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Etolue, will oversee fiduciary discipline, enterprise governance, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance across the Group’s economic initiatives. Other members of the Council include Dr. Cassandra Ferguson ( USA), Mr. Joseph Busha ( South Africa), etc.

The Board of Africa Centre for Public Leadership (ACPL) with Dr. James Komolafe as Director and Chair, will guide professional membership growth, public policy engagement, and strategic policy dialogues across Nigeria and the wider African continent. Other members of the Board include Mrs. Seyi Sanjo-Bankole (Canada), Rev. Nathaniel Aiyedegbon (Nig.), etc.

The Editorial Board of Future World Magazine, chaired by Mrs. Bosede Eitokpa, will steward intellectual direction, publication ethics, content quality, and continental discourse aligned with FLED’s vision of Africa’s leadership renaissance.

From Vision to Durable Structure

In his address during the inauguration ceremony, the Founder of FLED Group Africa, Rev. (Prof) Joseph C. Ibekwe, described the moment as the institutionalization of a philosophy: “Today, we move decisively from aspiration to architecture — from conviction to codified governance.”

He emphasized that sustainable institutions must be built on clear structures, moral safeguards, and distributed leadership responsibility — principles embedded in the Fledism Leadership Philosophy that undergirds the organisation.

Council and Board members, represent different countries including Nigeria, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States of America and Canada. Drawn from academia, public service, private enterprise, civil society, and media, they formally took their oaths of stewardship, committing to integrity, accountability, and service beyond personal interest.

A New Phase in Institutional Maturity

Founded in 1995, FLED Group Africa has steadily advanced a mission centered on leadership formation, moral responsibility, and economic empowerment. The inauguration signals the consolidation of nearly three decades of institutional evolution into a governance model designed for longevity, transparency, and generational continuity.

With these Councils and Boards now formally constituted, FLED Group Africa enters a new phase defined by:

• Ethical stewardship
• Institutional succession planning
• Continental thought leadership
