Announces 2026 International Women’s Leadership Conference
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, March 8, 2026, FLED Group Africa joined the global community in celebrating the resilience, leadership, and transformative contributions of women across Africa and the world.
This year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” underscores a foundational leadership principle: that sustainable progress emerges when individuals, institutions, and nations invest intentionally in the empowerment, education, and elevation of women.
Across governance, enterprise, civil society, faith communities, and public institutions, women continue to shape Africa’s development trajectory. Yet meaningful inclusion requires more than symbolic recognition—it requires structural commitment. To “give” in this context means to create space, transfer knowledge, mentor emerging leaders, design inclusive systems, and commit resources toward gender-responsive policy and institutional reform. In doing so, societies “gain” stronger governance, economic vitality, social cohesion, and ethical public leadership.
In alignment with this year’s International Women’s Day observance, FLED Group Africa is pleased to announce that the FLED International Leadership Institute will host the Second Annual International Women’s Leadership Conference on October 8–9, 2026, in Abuja, Nigeria, with a hybrid participation option.
The Conference, themed “Gendered Public Leadership for Africa’s Development,” will convene scholars, policymakers, development practitioners, and emerging leaders to explore how gender-aware public leadership can strengthen institutional design, public accountability, and sustainable development across Africa.
The International Women’s Leadership Conference represents a practical expression of the “Give to Gain” philosophy—an intellectual and policy platform designed to invest in ideas, research, and networks that advance women’s leadership in public life.
FLED Group Africa calls upon governments, institutions, development partners, civil society actors, and the private sector to move beyond rhetoric toward measurable action in supporting women’s participation in governance and nation-building.
As we commemorate International Women’s Day 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to cultivating leadership that is ethical, inclusive, and development-driven. Together, by giving intentionally, Africa gains sustainably.
