Young Farmers in Ahaizu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency Receive Training in Aquaculture

 

Selected youths in Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency of Imo State has attended a two-day Training/empowerment on Fish Value Chain Aquaculture.

The training which held on December 18 and 19, 2020, was conducted by Federal College Of Fisheries And Marine Technology, Lagos, and sponsored by Federal Government. It is part of Constituency project attracted by Hon Emeka Martins Chinedu, the legislator representing the people at the National Assembly.

Details of the training, as contained in a statement signed by Nnamdi Ukasanya, S.A. to Hon. Emeka Chinedu on Media and Publicity, indicates that the participants were trained in Aquaculture Fishery Farming and on how to manufacture Fish Feeds.


The training which took place in Afor Oru, Ahiazu LGA, had the primary aim of the programme is to build the capacity of the youths to become self-reliant and encourage the culture of economic independence.

It was witnessed by the PDP Chairman of Ahiazu, Prince Ibe Obolobo; DG,Emeka Chinedu Campaign Organization, Chief Kingsley Njoku, and other dignitaries.

At the end of the programme, the participants also received start-up grants of about N30,000 (thirty thousand naira), each.

It will be recalled that in December of 2019, Hon. Emeka Chinedu also attracted a Federal Government Skills Acquisition programme, to his constituency where close to 40 youths received different types of Starter Packs, at the end of a Training that lasted for two months in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
