Hon. Chinedu Renominated to Represent Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency
There is an overflow of joy in Mbaise and environs, as the federal lawmaker, representing the good people of Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu, made history, as the first ever, in the political history of Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, nay Imo State, to be returned unopposed by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, for Federal House of Representatives election.
The unanimous Seal-of-approval of March the 19th, 2022, by the entire Leadership and Stakeholders of the two Local Government Areas (Ahiazu and Ezinihitte), due to what was described as unprecedented performance, was consummated in every splendor and impressiveness, on Thursday, 26 May, 2022.
Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu polled 76 over 76 of votes cast, by the delegates at the House Of Representatives’ Primary Election that was conducted at Aladinma Shopping Mall, Owerri, Imo State Capital.
The the electoral panel declared Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu winner: “for polling the highest number of votes in this election and with the power conferred on us as the electoral panel, we, therefore, declare you returned as the PDP candidate for Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte Federal constituency.”
While reacting to the development, the delighted legislative legislator, called for unity of purpose in order to sustain the changing narratives. He dedicated the.victory to God almighty and his Constituents.
He also expressed implicit confidence that by the special grace of God almighty and assistance of fellow Constituents, he would emerge victorious at the general election, while pledging to continue to make his people proud, by delivering on his legislative responsibilities within the limits of his capacity.
“In as much as I am conscious of the fact that my primary responsibility as a legislator is to make laws, I will continue to change the narrative through robust representation that is anchored on attraction of dividend of democracy.”
Hon. Emeka Chinedu further thanked party members at all levels: the Wards, the LGAs, fellow Constituents and the general public for the unalloyed support and confidence reposed in him.
Meanwhile encomiums have continued to pour in, as notable Sons and Daughters of the Constituency, have appreciated the delegates for acting in accordance with the will of the people as well as attributing the unprecedented unopposed victory, as not only a welcome development, but also, a mature political precedent from the stable of an organized Ahiazu and Ezinihitte PDP, stressing the importance of the need to always reward great performance and selfless service.
According to Chief Steve Okeiyi (Amajuoyi of Ihitte), “this is a victory well deserved. Emeka Chinedu has shown sufficient capacity. It goes without saying that the major breakthrough of which our people will remain indebted to him, is the ability to open our eyes to understand that a Lawmaker can be loyal, respectful, down to earth, accommodating and also excel in the area of delivering of quality representation. May God reward him in abundance”, he prayed.
For the Director General, Emeka Chinedu Political Campaign Organization(Chief Kingsley Njoku): “Chinedu deserves the best any individual can offer. I am even thinking that irrespective of party leaning, Emeka should go into the general election unopposed. It is high time our people learned to consolidate on empirical gains of democracy. I must also add that I am not in anyway surprised that he performed outstandingly, having known him as one man whose consistency to deliver on set goals especially human oriented leadership, is legendary”, he opined.
For Mr. Ugochukwu Okiyi (Ugo Mbaise), “this is a dream come true: Hon. Emeka Chinedu, has not only paid his dues, but also maintained the kind of open doors that is worthy of emulation; and politics aside, the saying that “a Daniel has come to Judgment* is what Nwachinere has genuinely brought to bear in the politics of Mbaise and Nigeria at large”.
A group known as Hon. Emeka Chinedu Ambassadors, have also called on the good people of Ahiazu Mbaise /Ezinihitte Federal Constituency, to be more resolute in sustaining the changing narratives. Speaking through their spokesperson, HEC, Chigozie Uwagbokwu: ”we appreciate the commitment and selflessness of the delegates for acting in accordance to the will of the people; and it is only by being resolute through back to back voting, to return Hon. Emeka Chinedu to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, come 2023, that the present gains can be fully savoured”.
It is deserving of note that this victory is preparatory to Hon. Chinedu’s second term in office, in accordance with the rotational agreement of two term each for both LGAs of Ahiazu Mbaise and Ezinihitte Mbaise, respectively, where his predecessor on behalf of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA, had occupied the position for two term (2011 – 2015 and 2019).
