Shettima Arrives For Day 2 Of UN Food Systems Summit In Addis Ababa
Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived at venue of the 2nd United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) in Addis Ababa for the second day of high-level discussions. #UNFSS2025
The second day of the Summit will concentrate on converting newly identified priorities into tangible actions, featuring sessions that aim to align investments, enhance accountability, and expedite the transformation of national food systems worldwide.
In his address to global leaders, Nigeria’s Vice president emphasized the resilience of the nation’s food system in the face of shocks and crises.
He highlighted how the Tinubu administration has transformed crises into opportunities, specifically through the declaration of a state of emergency regarding food security.
Vice president Shettima mentioned that Nigeria’s Federal Government has established extensive policy guidelines to coordinate efforts for improved food delivery.
He noted that the Tinubu administration has significantly boosted strategic grain reserves and is supporting small holder farmers, including women and youth, by providing them with incentives.
