Army to launch Exercise Crocodile Smile VI

The Nigerian Army is to commence Exercise Crocodile Smile VI to eliminate remnants of boko haram insurgents and other criminals in Borno and Yobe axis as well as other parts of the country.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai stated this on Saturday at a press briefing to launch Exercise Crocodile Smile VI at the Special Army Super Camp 1 Ngamdu , Borno state.

Represented by the Chief of Training and Operations, NA Headquarters Abuja, Major General Nuhu Angbazo, the COAS added that, Nigerian Army has decided to carry out the Exercise Crocodile Smile VI to rid the country of other security challenges.

General Buratai said the exercise was scheduled to commence on Tuesday, 20th October  and will last up to  31st December, 2020,.

He further maintained that the exercise will also include cyber warfare exercises designed to identify, track and counter negative propaganda in the social media and across the cyberspace.

Buratai however noted that the exercise was targeted at improving general security and ensure safety of lives and property of the people during the ember months.

COAS explained further that the Crocodile Smile VI will also include civil-military component such as sanitation exercises, medical outreach, and support to the aged and the disabled as well as humanitarian assistance to widows of the fallen heroes.

He however solicited for the support and understanding of the general public throughout the period of the exercise.
