Time to Build Inter-Generational Connections with Youths
Helping young people to find their feet
It’s often said that once you hit 50 years, you should reduce the struggle to become something. You should reverse to make others become something. You should begin to build connections with the youths. That is how to reverse the trend.
Working to make others become something has powerful implications for your life. Who are the others? It’s the younger generation. You need to become deliberate in offering them support, guidance, and mentorship. You need to make connections with the younger generation to share your experiences of life and profession.
This is what we refer to as Inter-Generational Connection.
Now, you don’t have to do this alone, by yourself. We have established group platforms to enable you to do so.
Every adult should make it a point of duty and priority to bridge the gap between him and the youths in their communities. Adults should be deliberate to make a connection between the older generation and the younger generation. This is important to bring them into an ecosystem for support, guidance, and mentorship.
There are different platforms that the Foundation for Leadership & Education Development has created to enable adults to connect and engage with young people around them.
You may wish to explore the following platforms and invite young people, from your children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, to participate in them.

You hold the Key 
You must recognize that young people are always looking for an adult-figure role model. They long to have someone they can talk to and share with, without being judged and castigated. We want you to become one of those adult figure role models. You hold the key to the open doors of opportunities for the next generation.
We must become deliberate in bringing young people into our fold to nurture leadership values and worthy character for independent adult life.
You have to take the initiative to build the Inter-Generational Connection with young people.
Invite youths around you to any of the above platforms. It could be one of the best things you can do for them.
Every youth needs an adult role model. Become one of such models.
