What is ACPL?
Africa Centre for Public Leadership – ACPL – is an Afrocentric professional membership organization for transformational public leaders in Africa. It was established in 2022 by Fled International Leadership Institute as part of broader initiatives to professionalize the field of transformational leadership development and practice in Africa.

ACPL exists to provide professional career pathway for leaders in the public and private sectors in Africa.

What are the key objectives of ACPL?
- To promote the principles and practice of transformational leadership in the public and private leadership space.
- To induct qualified individuals from the private and public sectors and bring them into ACPL Membership.
- To professionalize and uphold professional standards for public leadership practice in Africa.
- To collaborate with relevant government agencies to mainstream compulsory Leadership training into Public Service.
- To enhance career advancement pathway of ACPL Members through Continuing Professional Leadership Development Programs (MCPD).
- To promote Peer Review processes for public leaders in private and public institutions.
- To organize public discourse and seminars including People & Power Conferences to raise awareness on values-driven Public Leadership and promote political education among citizens.
- To organize ACPL Inaugural Lectures, twice yearly (June & November), in collaboration appropriate institutions, for the conferment of Professorship in Transformational Public Leadership to qualified public leaders.
- To organize Educational & Business Tours within Africa and beyond for members networking opportunities.
- To promote African Foreign Policy toward Transformational Leadership through hosting the Africa Foreign Policy Dialogue – AFPD.
How Does One Become a Member?
Membership admission is through Direct Induction, which means there is no qualifying examination, prior to induction. However, by the first quarter of 2026, membership qualifying examination shall be introduced. Once African Centre for Public Leadership – ACPL becomes a Chartered Body, it will to certify and register Leadership Development Practitioners.
Who can be a Member?
Civil Servants, Public Servants, Diplomats, Business owners, Entrepreneurs, Academic professionals, politicians, etc.
What are the Membership Categories and Benefits?
There are six categories of membership. Membership of ACPL will enhance your professional leadership career pathway.
What is Public Leadership Induction?
To be inducted into Public Leadership is the climax of your professional leadership journey. It is an endorsement of your role as a public leader, irrespective of your professional field of practice.
