Future World Community Honours

Recognizing Those Who Build Where No Spotlight Exists

Across communities, there are individuals quietly transforming lives—building schools, mentoring young people, strengthening local institutions, resolving conflicts, and holding communities together.

Most of them are never recognized.

Future World Community Honours exists to change that.

About the Honours

The Future World Community Honours System (FWCHS) is an initiative of Future World Magazine designed to identify, validate, and recognize individuals making real contributions at the community level.

This is not a national popularity award. It is a local recognition system grounded in evidence, integrity, and community validation.

We believe that the strength of a nation is built in its communities—and those who serve there deserve to be seen.

Award Categories

  1. Community Impact Award (CIA)

For those who take action and create measurable change

This award recognizes individuals who have made tangible contributions to the development of a specific community.

Examples of impact include:

  • Building or supporting local infrastructure
  • Youth and women empowerment initiatives
  • Community economic development
  • Peacebuilding and social cohesion efforts

This category is open to both local residents and diaspora contributors whose work directly impacts a community.

  1. Community Leadership Excellence Award (CLEA)

For those who lead with integrity and influence

This award recognizes individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership within their communities.

This includes:

  • Community leaders and coordinators
  • Heads of local organizations
  • Faith-based and traditional leaders
  • Youth leaders and mobilizers

We look for leadership defined by:

  • Integrity and accountability
  • Ability to unite and mobilize people
  • Commitment to community wellbeing
  • Lasting influence and legacy

What Makes This Different

Most awards recognize visibility. We recognize impact.

The Future World Community Honours is built on:

  • Local Legitimacy – Recognition is rooted in the actual community served
  • Evidence-Based Selection – Contributions must be verifiable
  • Independence – No political or commercial influence
  • Credibility Over Popularity – No voting contests or paid nominations

Who Can Be Nominated

  • Individuals actively contributing to a specific community
  • Those living in Nigeria or in the diaspora with traceable local impact
  • Individuals with consistent, not one-off, contributions

Note: Self-nominations are not accepted.

Why It Matters

Communities do not develop by policy alone. They develop because individuals choose to serve.

By recognizing these individuals, we:

  • Encourage responsible community leadership
  • Inspire others to contribute
  • Document real stories of transformation

Final Note

Not all leaders are known. Not all impact is visible. But where communities are changing, someone is responsible.

Future World Community Honours exists to find them—and recognize them.
