The 6th Annual National People & Power Conference holds Online
The 6th Annual National People & Power Conference holds Online on Thursday November 5, 2020, 10am – 1:30pm.
The theme of this year’s Conferences is “Endangered Democracy in a New World”.
In a statement signed by the Convener, Joseph Ibekwe, this year’s conference holds against the backdrop of the impact of COVID-19 global lockdown on democratic liberties; the 2020 US Presidential Elections and the new cracks it has created in the country’s democratic walls; and the implications of #EndSARS protests in Nigeria that seem to have put pressure on the nation’s democratic space.
Confirmed speakers at the conference include Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity; Dr. Sam Amadi, Senior Lecturer at Base University, Abuja; Dr. Olunifesi SURAJ, Senior Lecturer at the University of Lagos; Rev. Gideon Para-Mallam, CEO, The Para-Mallam Peace Foundation; Dr. Danladi Erisa, CEO, Motherhen Development Foundation, Abuja; Dr. Freedom Onuoha, Senior Lecturer at University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
People & Power Conference is organized by FLED International Leadership Institute in collaboration with Future World Magazine, as a public service initiative to deepen democratic culture in Nigeria in the spirit of “a different kind of TALK, another way to ACT”.
It was first held on November 12, 1995, and since then, the Conference has gained acceptance and credibility among political, business and religious leaders in the country as a non-partisan intellectual platform.
