Gov Ganduje Offers Scholarships to Orphans of Zambarmari Massacre….

As he Commiserates With Gov Zulum, Borno People

The Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Unar Ganduje has offered Scholarships to orphans of Zambarmari Massacre in Borno State which claimed the lives of more than 43 rural rice farmers killed by boko haram.

Leading a 12-man state delegation to Maiduguri Government House to commiserates with the government and people of Borno state, Ganduje said Kano said has always consider Borno state a second home to Kano and whatever affects Borno state  affects kano state.

“As such, as in the last we sympathise and carry some orphans to cater for them till they finish their tertiary institutions, we shall again do more this time around to have orphans of Tue victims of the Zambarmari Massacre to sponsor them from their nursery to Tertiary school levels.

“We cannot fold our arms and watch you alone to shoulder these responsibilities. They are too much for you.   You may remember we also last year supported the IDPs with relief materials apart from Tue young orphans we took to cater for them.

“We pray this will soon come to an end. Definitely, it will and peace shall rise again in Borno. We also in prayers always for you and we shall continue.

“I am in Maiduguri with some delegation comprising of 4 Islamic scholars from the Izala, Kadirya, Tijaniya and Ala Sunnah. One renowned politician, one state commissioner, one businessman and representative of the Emir of Kano touching all spheres of society and people of Kano to sympathize with you and the people of Borno over the last weekend ugly incident .

” I will ask each if the four Ulamas to pray for the repose of the victims of Tue massacres, peace, stability, unity, harmony and development of Tue state and country at large”, Ganduje said.

The Islamic Scholars include Sheikh Nasiru Kabara, Sheikh Abdulwahab, Sheikh Zangon Barebari who is also the Chairman Kano Sharia Commission and Sheikh A. Usman.

Responding, Governor Zulum acknowledged their condolence visit and offer to sponsor again hundreds of small and young orphans from their nursery to Tertiary level under their care in Kano

He prayed God Almighty to reward them with jannatul Firdaus for their visit and prayers, which was a clear empathy and consolidated existing relationship between the Kano people and Borno people economically, politically, traditionally, culturally and  socially for centuries while appreciating them.
