Summer holidays offers fantastic opportunities for self discovery, adventure, exploration and self awareness. During summer holidays, like some call it long vacation in Africa, it is usually a great opportunity for children to discover themselves more outside the four walls of education, there are some of them with fantastic natural skills, this summer is a time parents supposed to watch closely to their kids to know what they can do outside formal education.
But it’s quite unfortunate that some parents still find a way of returning their children back to school in the name of summer lesson because they feel that they don’t need disturbance. This ought not to be so. Bring your child closer, discover your child as your child discovers herself more too. It should be a time for personal growth and development. It should be a time to pursue hobbies and take up on new challenges. Some can learn skills like tailoring, hair making, hair cuts, musical trainings etc. Indeed summer holidays provides the perfect opportunity to explore new interests and passions.
Quality time
Summer holidays is also a time parents spend quality time with their kids after being away from school and to others everyday waking early to be in school, coming back home with a lot of assignments, finishing the assignment and chores, no time left but bed time, it goes on and on like that every single day. But summer holidays helps you spend quality time with your kids, try to know their strengths and weaknesses, their struggles and their flaws. There are things that bothers your children which are personal, spending quality time with them can make them open up to you to discuss their personal challenges and private life. Giving time to your children is one of the most valuable investments you can ever make in their lives; it is priceless.
Spending quality time with your children can have a profound impact on their development, well-being, and relationship with you. It’s an opportunity to:
*Bond and create lasting memories
*Guide and mentor them
*Understand their needs and interests

Summer holidays can also be a time of stocktaking and analysis of their experience both in school, reflect on their learning and analyze their progress by identifying their strengths and weaknesses, developing self awareness and self-reflection skills, setting goals for future growth, relaxing and recharging for the next academic year.
