Future World Magazine Announces the 2026 Cohort of the Future World Fellowship Program
Future World Magazine is pleased to formally announce the selection and admission of the 2026 Cohort of the Future World Fellowship Program (FWFP).
Established as a premier African thought leadership fellowship, the Future World Fellowship Program brings together a select community of writers, journalists, researchers, communicators, and public-minded professionals committed to shaping meaningful conversations on leadership, governance, development, public policy, and the future of Africa.
The 2026 Cohort represents the inaugural class of 13 Fellows admitted from different African countries following a competitive and rigorous selection process involving applicants from diverse professional and academic backgrounds.
The six-month hybrid fellowship, running from May to November 2026, is designed as a professional formation platform focused on:
- Thought leadership development
- Editorial and public writing practice
- Policy and governance communication
- Digital publishing and public engagement
- Intellectual and civic formation
Throughout the fellowship period, Fellows will participate in seminars, editorial labs, masterclass dialogues, publication projects, and capstone thought leadership assignments under the guidance of experienced editors, faculty, and public thinkers.
Speaking on the launch of the programme, the Publisher of Future World Magazine, Joseph Chinenyeze Ibekwe, noted that the initiative reflects Future World Magazine’s long-term commitment to nurturing credible African voices capable of contributing meaningfully to public discourse and institutional development across the continent.
He further emphasized that the fellowship is not merely a training programme, but a platform for forming disciplined communicators and emerging public intellectuals who can engage society with clarity, depth, responsibility, and influence.
Future World Magazine congratulates all admitted Fellows and welcomes them into the pioneer cohort of what is envisioned to become a leading African fellowship platform for thought leadership and public engagement.
Applications for subsequent cohorts will be announced in due course.
